Efectis

Efectis is a major player in fire science, and covers all fire safety expertise in quantitative risk assessment of hydrogen powered vehicles in open environment and in confined, fire strategy, testing and simulation for residential premises and industrial facilities (including offshore and marine facilities), research, dissemination, certification and inspection around the world. With 70 years of experience and five accredited laboratories, Efectis performs about 1,000 fire resistance tests per year and around twice that number for reaction-to-fire. Efectis has seen the evolution of materials, standards and practices that should help understanding behaviour of material, practices, regulations and their impact within the global strategy. Efectis is involved in multiple projects across Europe supporting the evolution of fire safety regulations and decision-making.

Efectis is involved in different manufacturer projects linked to the use of the composite materials in the hydrogen tank. As a major player in fire testing and consulting, Efectis is in close industrial and research contact with PFP systems’ manufacturers, companies involved in the production and handling of hydrogen (e.g. Air Liquid), project developers and engineering groups involved in current or proposed hydrogen projects (e.g. GEXCON), National and International technical and standardization committees, i.e. CEN TC 127 WG3; French IMO committee X65M; ISO SC2 TC 92 WG8; WG11 & WG12; CEN TC 127; ISO TC 61; CEN TC 127; NATO STANAG 4602; IMO SDC, IMO SSE, and learning bodies/academic sectors working in hydrogen area (e.g. University Central London UK, Macquarie University Australia).
